A Chicago man took a knife to the back during an argument turned ugly following a Tuesday (September 8) night Jay-Z concert.
Jay took the stage at the city's House of Blues venue to support the same day release of his highly-anticipated album The Blueprint 3.
The gig went off without a hitch, but violence erupted following Jay's set when two women began arguing.
Their respective male companions soon joined in and one ended up being stabbed in the back.
"The women were exchanging words and it escalated to a small shoving
match. The men sort of stepped in and it... escalated to where the men
got into the confrontation," said Chicago Police spokesperson Gabrielle
Lesniak.
The 20-year-old unnamed victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial
Hospital where it was determined that his injuries were not life
threatening.
Sources close to the incident say the alleged attacker was taken into custody at the scene.
In other Jay-Z concert news, the rapper also made headlines today for having a New York performance interrupted by the fire department.
Jay was playing at Manhattan's Blender Theater
Wednesday (September 9) night when fire officials burst in the venue
checking on an activated fire alarm during his performance of You, Me, Him and Her.
They quickly exited the venue after finding no cause for concern.
