Multiplatinum-selling hip-hop artist Nas is teaming up with Fila to promote the sportswear company's new Italia Footwear collection. Nas will be featured in a marketing campaign centered around the men's footwear line set to debut in August. Fila's print advertisements featuring NAS will begin running this month in Vibe, XXL, Giant and Fader magazines. Nas Featured In NEW YORK Magazine
Fila's U.S. headquarters is located in Sparks. Financial terms of the endorsement deal were not disclosed. The ads will coincide with the release of Nas' 10th album set to hit stores July 15. A Fila TV commercial featuring Nas will run nationwide on that date on cable network BET. The footwear line will be available mainly at Foot Locker (NYSE: FL) locations and other independent retailers. Nas will wear the shoes during concerts, music videos and other promotional events. Fila and Nas will also team to create an 1980s-era footwear and apparel collection slated to be released in time for the 2008 holiday season.
