MTV "Run's House" darling Angela Simmons, one half of the creative duo that created the wildly successful Pastry brand, has cooked up a cool new song called "Center of Attention" to herald the arrival of Pastry's newest offering, Glam Pie. With her sister and business partner, Vanessa Simmons, Angela is uniquely representing their newest sneaker, which is a high-topped confection for young ladies' feet. The always fun, bubbly Angela has mixed music and fashion with the recording of "Center of Attention," which she co-wrote, in her own inimitable, whimsical way. Produced by Cali producers TrakMatik and Felix Badatua, the free-flowing, bouncy song is available as a free download at http://www.pastrykicks.com, beginning July 17th. Glam Pie is a colorful, fun sneaker with its own "soundtrack." "Wearing Glam Pie will make you the "Center of Attention," says the 20-year-old trendsetter. This kicky addition to the Pastry line, designed by Vanessa and Angela, is a summertime treat for the feet, a key ingredient for warm-weather merriment. Specially created television commercials will run extensively throughout the summer to introduce Glam Pie to consumers. Directed by the prolific Bryan Barber (critically acclaimed feature film "Idlewild," music videos for OutKast, Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, Joss Stone and others), they will be energetic, lively spots featuring siblings Vanessa and Angela. As an appropriate extension of the television commercials, "Center of Attention" will have a music video, also directed by Barber. Created with fun in mind, the video, which was conceived as a gift to Pastry fans, will highlight the song's playful sound and festive attitude. Music and fashion have worked well together within the Simmons family: Vanessa and Angela's father, Rev. Run, is a hip-hop music icon and entrepreneur with his Run Athletics, and their uncle, Russell Simmons, is a music mogul and creator of the Phat Farm empire. Both Simmons sisters are multi-talented. Angela is the editor of her own national teen magazine, Angela's Rundown, and Vanessa, 24, is an accomplished television and stage actress and model. Together, they're also the official spokespersons for the Girl Scouts of America. Television viewers have come to know them as the two fascinating young female siblings of the Simmons family on MTV's popular hit series "Run's House," which chronicles the life of Rev. Run and the Simmons family. "Run's House" returns for a fifth season on MTV on July 16th at 10:00 p.m. Eastern.
