NEW YORK - A New York publisher is suing Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim, saying they were paid advances for books they never delivered. Simon & Schuster Inc. says Brown was paid $75,000 in 2005 to deliver an autobiography called "Broken Silence" by February 2006; and Lil' Kim was paid $40,000 in 2003 for a novel due June 2004. The publisher wants its money back through the two lawsuits filed Thursday. After signing the deals, both women were imprisoned for several months. Lil' Kim went to prison in 2005 for lying about a shooting, and Brown in 2007 for violating probation arising from a fight with two manicurists. Brown's attorney says she hasn't seen the lawsuit and can't comment. Lil' Kim's attorney didn't immediately return a call Thursday. Simon & Schuster is owned by CBS Corp.

A concert featuring former Dipset member Max B. was halted when gunshots rang out at S.O.B's in New York tonight (July 22).
Witnesses told AllHipHop.com that an entourage of men entered the club just a few hours ago, during Max B.'s performance then shots were fired inside the club.
“They came in 25 deep, a couple of songs were playing and a guy was in Max's face in VIP making gestures,” one witness told AllHipHop.com. “One thing led to another and the whole crew bumrushed (ran up to) the security and VIP and everyone started fighting. That's when a single shot was let off.” Patrons exited the club frantically and at press time, it was not clear if there were any injuries or fatalities.
Approximately 30 police cars presently cover SOB’s with other officers on horseback. The Varick Street block in New York, where the popular club resides, has been blocked off. No suspects have been named in the incident.
SOB’s has been a staple in Hip-Hop and currently celebrates its 25th anniversary. | | No comments for this item |
