The casket worth of $25,000 (about 170,000 yuan) will feature a blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish.

It is the same type of coffin which soul singer James Brown was buried in.

Jackson saw the casket first hand when he paid tribute to the singer as he lay in state in New York City's Apollo Theatre, where he started his career, in 2006.

Meanwhile Jackson's pal and music producer Quincy Jones yesterday vowed NOT to attend the funeral.

Mr Jones said he would not be able to cope with the sadness.

The legendary music producer, who was the brains behind three of the King Of Pop's biggest hit albums — Thriller, Off The Wall and BAD — is still grieving after the sudden death of his close friend.

Speaking to reporters at Heathrow Airport, he insisted: "No. I'm not going to the funeral.

"I don't wanna go to no funeral. Ray Charles, (Marlon) Brando. I don't wanna see people in that shape."

2. Casketed bodies are usually transferred via hearse, or, failing that, a funeral-home SUV. I seriously doubt that MJ's remains traveled around in a warehouse-delivery truck.
