Virus Outbreak suspends Rapper T.I.'s Visits in Prision!!
By Hip Hop News

June 23, 2009

Visiting hours have been suspended at FCC Forest City, an Arkansas Prison where rapper T.I. is currently incarcerated, because of a virus outbreak. While T.I.'s condition is unknown the virus has been rapidly spreading throughout the low to medium security Federal prison where male inmates are housed including T.I. who is serving a year and a day for a weapons charge.

Officials say the outbreak is suspected to be a gastrointestinal virus and they don't know what caused the outbreak but they don't suspect swine flu. Visiting hours will resume once the virus is contained.

Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson Traci Billingsley issued a statement saying, "A number of inmates recently became ill and have been treated at the prison; the symptoms appear to dissipate within 48 to 72 hours. Swine flu is not suspected because these all are all gastrointestinal-related. Visits were suspended Friday, they will resume when medical personnel are certain there is no risk of exposure."

T.I. was originally arrested on October 13, 2007, four hours before the BET Awards that he was scheduled to host, when federal authorities took him into custody at a downtown shopping plaza. He was charged with two felonies, possession of three unregistered machine guns and silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. T.I. was arrested after allegedly trying to purchase the guns from a witness cooperating with the ATF. The witness, who had been working as T.I.'s bodyguard for a few months, had been cooperating with authorities since he was arrested on charges of trying to purchase guns from a federal agent. T.I. posted a $3 million bond, $2 million in cash and $1 million in equity on property he owns and was released 13 days after his arrest. The rapper was placed on house arrest until he pleaded guilty in February of 2008.

T.I. began serving his sentence in FCC Forrest City on May 26, 2009. He is scheduled to be released on March 26, 2010.
